2 P reface C heck out our website for further dates www.boeckmann-pferde.com Dear Friends and Böckmann Breeders, Last year took a toll on all of us and I sincerely hope that 2021 will bring us more security and social peace. Times like these make me appreciate being able to keep and work with horses even more. International show jumping is my passion and it’s an honour to be making an active contribution to the success of breeders and competition riders. Breeding is all about considering the horses’ strengths and weaknesses, and optimising them from one generation to the next. And there’s more to breeding than knowing the pedigrees. Last year we had a lot of virtual meet-ups. This year I very much hope that our dedicated breeders and riders will be able to attend events in person again, because there’s no replacement for that special atmosphere and live experience of equestrian sports. We’re all very proud that an offspring of Vagabond de la Pomme, one of our home-bred horses with Checkter’s lineage got the stallion licensing. 2020 was also another good year for our star sire Fidertanz. I could write a novel about his amazing qualities as a breeding stallion. Beautiful Checkter, who still holds the stallion performance test record, has produced some very athletic young stallions and is now competing in advanced show jumping classes. I’m focusing on developing interesting pedigrees for our breeders and giving competition experience to our talented sires with a long- term outlook in the sport, so that I am able to give more targeted advice to breeders. I’m also excited about our promising new sires with very modern bloodlines. You can find out more about them in our brochure or pay us a visit when lockdown restrictions are eased.
